All candidates must be familiar with PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS systems and experience in Siemens S5/S7 or PCS7 would be a distinct advantage. PLC Engineer
Our client is a leading advanced automation and real-time business intelligence company specialising in Automation, Control and IT Solutions and Services with major customers in the Nuclear, Power Generation, Utilities and Oil & Gas markets.Design and implementation of PLC Systems and related software engineering activities for a variety of industrial control system applications in the Water, Power Generation and Nuclear Industries. We are looking for a range of experience from 3 to 10 years + for a number of exciting new roles. The candidates should have recent proven experience in at least one of the mainstream PLC's such as Siemens S7, Rockwell Contrologix or Schneider (Unity Programming Software) and be willing to learn new platforms where necessary. There may be some periods of working on the client's site installing and commissioning systems but will be mainly based at our clients Stone office. Essential Requirements: • PLC programming of control systems from given designs • Practical experience of using 61131-3 programming languages, especially function block • Involvement throughout whole software/systems lifecycle, from design through coding to testing, installation and configuration, and documentation (working throughout to full QA procedures) • Working within project team to customer deadlines • Installation and configuration/testing work at customer sites • Computer related or appropriate engineering qualification (degree/HND) or comparable industrial experience • Minimum 3 years experience expectation to fulfil requirements of this post. • Good client facing skills, must be able to work as part of combined client/contractor team • Knowledge of PLC system design • Driving licence Desirable Skills: • VB, VBA, C++ • Experience of larger networked systems • Dual Redundant system architectures (PLC's & Networks) • Supervision / Mentoring skills (advantageous but not essential) • Experience of working in the Water, Energy from Waste or Nuclear Industry. • Mainstream SCADA packages (advantageous but not essential) Candidates should possess the following personal qualities: • Ability to work as part of a team • Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines • Have good communication skills • Be flexible in their methods of working.
