Flow Assurance Engineer


A leading operator with world wide production is looking to identify a flow assurance engineer for their operations in Egypt.The scope of the position is to provide Subsea Project Engineering, Flow Assurance and Commissioning support during both the detailed design/onshore construction phase and offshore shut-down/installation and commissioning phase.
A primary responsibility of the job-holder is to assume the primary focus within the PMT for resolving all related flow assurance issues. With regards all flow assurance, shut-down, start-up, commissioning and initial operating conditions, the holder will required to effectively manage the Technical Assurance Contractor, interface with Burullus Operations and Stakeholders to facilitate the achievement of the project objectives.

Key Accountabilities
To be the focal point and lead the resolution of all flow assurance related issues arising from the company’s VAF process. The individual shall be capable of delivering acceptable technical solutions to the PMT by discussing and gaining agreement on technical issues with stakeholders, both internal and external to the JV.
To provide technical support on various Project Engineering issues to the Engineering and Construction managers to enable the timely close out of technical issues relating to flow assurance, shut-downs and start-up, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
To provide flow assurance and risk assessment excellence to the project team with regards the operation, shut-down and start-up of the new subsea infrastructure and where it ties into existing.
To be the focal point for leading and managing the Sub-contractors HAZID, HAZOP and QRA processes ensuring outcomes are aligned with project objectives.
To deliver the Operating procedures for the new facilities including amendment/preparation of existing where the new subsea facilities tie into existing plant.
Ensure effective management systems are implemented in order to identify project risks, develop and implement risk response action plans for the top risks.
Influence best contractor performance, particularly HSE. Monitor contractor and supplier performance and act quickly on underperformance.
Required Skills/Experience:
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Have Subsea Project Engineering and in particular process engineering/flow assurance skills
• Be a technical professional with solid and field proven understanding of the flow assurance issues associated with subsea infrastructure and networks.
• Verifiable performance and delivery in one or more positions of technical responsibility
• Interfaced with process engineering and flow assurance contractors to support the delivery of technical studies and reports
• Individual shall have previous experience of tie-in to existing infrastructure especially the optimization of shut-down/start-up techniques and methodologies for reducing/managing risks.
• Have a track record of successfully closing out technical findings and issues.
• Educated to 1st degree level preferably in chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered member of a professional engineering institution (preferred)
• Individual must be a resilient, motivated self starter possessing a high level of political and cultural sensitivity who is able to operate and deliver effectively in tough environments
• A good team player who can work successfully in multi cultural environments
• Capable of leading workshops and meetings.
• Competent to lead engineering design in flow assurance and process engineering.
