Construction Coordinator - Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) - Horizon Oil Sands

THE OPPORTUNITY:
Be part of the exciting growth and expansion of the Horizon Oil Sands. With your contribution we will see incremental production gains of approximately 250,000 bbl/d. Further phases of expansion will bring the ultimate capacity to 500,000 bbl/d.
• As a key member of the team you will be responsible for participating in the electrical and instrumentation equipment components of the bid, design and constructability reviews as well as be a focal point in the interface coordination between Operations and the EPC contractors
• Act as the Construction Manager representative for all issues related to Electrical and Instrumentation in the field
This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
• Relocation to Calgary or Fort McMurray
• Company Sponsored Fly In/Fly Out and Camp Accommodation Program with charter flights available from Calgary or Edmonton
HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
Maximize your oil and gas industry field experience and apply your electrical and instrumentation expertise to:
• Review and monitor contractor Construction Execution Plans, schedules and manpower loading to ensure compliance with Canadian Natural standards, policies and procedures
• Develop, review and communicate electrical engineering plans within the Project and coordinate work efforts with other areas of the Project
• Optimize the area systems and equipment while providing information, data and recommendations concerning maintenance issues and activities
• Evaluate and understand contractor modularization proposals and designs, equipment work scopes and work with contractor to ensure installation interfaces with other units/groups are taken into account and specifications are followed
• Oversee work completion as per schedule milestone dates, be cognizant of any scope changes and indicate deviations to Construction Manager and Project Controls
• Monitor and participate in audits with safety specialists to ensure contractor safety compliance
• Be a member of the pre-commissioning and system turnover team
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Electrical and Instrumentation Journeyman certification with PLC and DCS experience
• Experience with MI-SR controllers and Electric Heat Tracing (EHT)
