Project Control Supervisor


Our client has a vacancy for a Project Control Supervisor based in Bahrain.
As Project Control Supervisor your main responsibilities will include:
  • Develops and contributes to departmental and organisational goals
  • Sets expectations for team members and measures performance through these expectations
  • Implements an integrated planning system and culture within the organization
  • Liaises with all operating groups, drilling, facilities and operations
  • Consolidates vendor/supplier planning information
  • Implements performance reporting systems in line with the PMI
  • Presents planning scenarios, resource smoothing, critical path, etc.
  • Supports business performance reporting
  • Supports budget preparation, cost estimating and reporting
  • Develops norms based on local market
  • Develops a strong awareness of local supplier market
  • Interfaces with project engineers, construction personnel, and organizational customers to collect, update, and reports all cost and schedule information for projects in assigned area
  • Creates and maintains database records of project cost and schedule information and status
  • Analyzes project cost and schedule information and communicates performance, trends, and forecasts
  • Identifies the need for and assists in the development of project corrective action plans

Qualifications and experience required:
  • Experience in use of ANSI 99-001 (PMBOK) tools and methods for generating Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs), generating and resource loading schedules, cost and schedule tracking and reporting using CPI, SPI, etc.
  • Experience in use of formal project management processes and related scheduling software such as Primavera and/or MS Project
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to chair project control and coordination meetings, cost and planning reviews and cost forecast discussions with multi-discipline project teams as well as facilities contractors, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information and within the time deadline required
  • Ability to represent the company commercial and technical interests with vendors and contract staff
  • Sensitive to cultural differences in nationalities
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, including safety considerations Demonstrated ability to work within multidiscipline team environment Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences within and external to the company, including government agencies
  • Proven experience in upstream oil and gas facilities projects
  • Candidate shall have previously held the position of Project Planner and shall have worked on at least one major construction project involving the production and processing of hydrocarbons
  • Working knowledge of reliability engineering principles and life cycle cost analysis
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems and contracting
  • Working knowledge of typical onshore oil and gas construction practices
  • Working knowledge of onshore oil and gas operations and maintenance functions
  • Working knowledge of water flood and steam flood operations
  • Engineering, QS or Business related degree preferred although not essential if candidate has relevant proven experience
This is a permanent position.
