Responsibilities :
The Control Systems Engineer's job expectations include:

* Provide Technical Assurance to all instrumentation and automation changes in their designated area.
* Provide Control Systems Day-to-Day support for their designated Operating Area.
* Troubleshoot problems with control and information systems (hardware and software).
* Monitor base layer controller performance. Identify problem loops and take steps to address.
* Maintain multivariable control applications and custom control strategies.
* Maintain the safety instrumented systems in their designated area.
* Support craft workers and Inspectors with maintenance items.
* Provide input into the preventative maintenance program.
* Provide Control Systems Long Term support for their designated Operating Area.
* Identify new information and control applications.
* Design and implement small instrumentation projects.
* Update documentations and procedures as required.
* Conduct or participate in investigations regarding near misses or incidents involving control system components.
* Support unit Turnarounds - provide inputs on work scope and execution.
* Provide input into the Tech plan/capital plan
Additional Expectations:

* The control systems engineer will be in full compliance with all applicable Standards, Policies & Procedures and Orders.
* This role interfaces with many other disciplines, including Operations and Maintenance.
* This role may occasionally require shift work to support major unit activity, such as unit startups and shutdowns.
* The control systems engineer will be required to train Operators and Maintenance technicians on new instruments, new/modified controls and safety instrumented systems.

Required Skills/Experience:Requirements :
* Must have the legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
* Engineering background with at least five (5) years experience (Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or higher preferred)
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written
* Strong leadership skills
* Strong organization skills
* Familiar to Management Of Change process
* Expertise on control algorithm implementation
* Knowledge of Advanced Control Algorithms
* Knowledge of industry standards Knowledge of process unit operations
* Strong ownership of assigned units
* Knowledge of Process Control Network
* Strong MS Office skills
