Transmission Project Manager – Renewable Energy – London
My client are the owner of the seabed around the UK out to the 12nm limit, they play a vital role in the development of offshore renewable energy, the cables and pipelines business and offshore aggregate dredging.
The Transmission Manager will be responsible for co-ordinating and driving the development of a credible UK-wide offshore grid / transmission solution and managing the enabling of grid infrastructure required for successful delivery of their offshore renewable programmes and facilitating alignment of other relevant grid programmes.  Also responsibility for building confidence with stakeholders on delivery to enable timely investment in grid to ensure that grid will enable rather than hinder renewable energy programmes.
Key tasks

- Develop and deliver grid related improvement initiatives and associated targeted actions;
- Develop and manage cable corridor related guidance notes, procedures and policies;
- Support and analyse regulatory issues and make proposals when necessary;
- Manage the grid project budget, monitor the expenditure against delivered and realised benefits as the project progresses;
- Manage key relationships with offshore energy developers including the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), Scottish Government, Ofgem and transmission companies;
- Leading on grid enabling works for Round 3, STW and wave and tidal and representing the organisation on grid related forums or groups for these programmes;
- Communicate with stakeholders both internal and external;
- Liaise with stakeholders of future North Sea Grid to Europe and ensure the opportunity is maximised for the organisation;
- Work closely with the asset management team to ensure the relevant leases and licences for offshore transmission operators are prepared and issued. Candidate specification

- Electrical Engineering degree qualification. Postgraduate qualification and membership of a relevant professional organisation will be an advantage;
- Demonstrable experience of managing energy projects and general project management and delivery experience including stakeholder management;
- Demonstrate knowledge of grid regulatory framework and its applicability to connection of offshore renewable energy projects;
- Knowledge of marine energy and an interest in the renewable energy industry is essential;
- Competent user of Microsoft Office and databases.
