Contract Administrator 1104-6 New Caledonia


Job summary
The Contract Administrator is responsible for the preparation (Call for tenders) and administration
of the work (or service) contracts allocated to him/her by the Senior Contract Administrator. In
that role, he/she will ensure that all contractual obligations are met.
He/she will interface with the Engineering, Construction and Project Control departments. He/she
will collaborate closely with the contracting firms.
Responsibilities
• Prepare the bid documents and organise the Calls for tenders, (expression of interest, site visit,
analysis of tenders received, award proposal) in liaison with the Area Manager.
• Ensure that the bid documents include the Sustainable Development Standard specific to the
Project and follow their effective implementation.
• Administer the work and/or service contracts entrusted to him/her
• Prepare all contractual correspondence and submit it for signature
• Prepare the monthly accounts with the contract’s technical advisor and check the invoices.
• Generate the Contract Status Report using the I-Pass software
• Manage the contract documents, prepare, negotiate and finalise the contract amendments in
liaison with all the relevant departments.
• Follow and manage the contractor claims, analyse them and prepare responses
• Participate in (if necessary, lead) site meetings, prepare the minutes of those meetings and
have them approved.
• Communicate (in writing or verbally) with the contractors
• Supervise the filing of bid documents and correspondence
• Close the contracts (final accounts)
Status:Contract
Required Skills/Experience:As a minimum, an engineering degree (civil engineering, electromechanics, mining,..) or an
equivalent university degree. A BTS (Brevet de technician supérieur) level with extensive
experience may be considered.
• Mastery of the English language (written/oral) required.
• Ability to communicate and write perfectly in English and French.
• Real capacity for team work, in a multinational environment.
• Willingness to succeed and seek missing information.
• Natural authority required to conduct meetings.
Required Qualifications:At least 5 years of experience in a similar activity on major worksites.
