Design Engineer - Mech Aux Systems (Offshore Platforms)


·Responsible for compliance validation of sub-contractor proposals for the above works.
·Attend technical meetings with Client’s and sub-contractors.
·Providing technical support to the Project Delivery design team for allocated projects within the employee’s business area.
·Providing technical support to the Project Construction team for allocated projects within the employee’s business area.
· Review Client proposal team supplied enquiry documents, specifications, programmes, commercial requirements etc.
·Agree delivery programmes with design department and Project Manager
·Review Division of Responsibilities from the tender proposals and design and or fabrication contract.
·Input into preparation /collation of platform project specification for issue to the Project Manager
·Input into the detailing and specification of the mechanical facilities to ensure they comply with contractual & legal requirements, customer specifications and best practice. 

These would generally comprise:
-Pipework systems
-Materials and welding techniques
-Water based fire suppression systems in an offshore environment
-Water systems for general use in an offshore environment
-Access / Egress systems & stairways in an offshore environment
-Offshore safety & evacuation systems
-Cranes & hoists for use in an offshore environment
-Other services as necessary
· Liaise with supply chain throughout the contract period
· Liaise with internal departments throughout the contract period
· Review supplier’s offers for the mechanical systems elements of the works
· Provide inputs and update the project risk register
· Preparation / collation of documents associated with the mechanical systems for submission to customers for approval under the contract.
· Attend meetings, internal, with Client, with suppliers etc as necessary
· Provide technical support to the Project Delivery team, identifying and resolving interfaces, identification & mitigation of risks, sub-contracted design validation etc
· Travel as necessary between Manchester base office, Newcastle upon Tyne tender team, fabricators, designers and Clients.
· Compliance with necessary substation / industry standards
· Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies, for example Business Conduct Guidelines & Confidential Information.
